Along with the Wild Rumpus, cover bands are an Athens Halloween-weekend tradition, and this year’s best bet for tribute action will take place at the Caledonia Lounge Saturday after the parade winds down. Four groups will showcase their fandom in honor of the holiday, including mainstays Nairvana (playing Nirvana covers), the Proxies (Pixies covers by members of Tunabunny and Antlered Aunt Lord), Re-Refused (the music of Refused performed by members of Cinemechanica and other math-rockers) and Gabba Gabba Huh? (Ramones tunes courtesy of local rockers The Grawks). Given the aptitude of all involved, expect an evening of fun and faithful musical re-creations.
