Ratboys, DAGS!, Scooterbabe

Chicago-based buzz band Ratboys combines rootsy Americana instrumentation with a dreamy, emo-tinged take on indie rock, resulting in a singular style the group has adeptly dubbed “post-country.” Ratboys’ latest full-length, GN, released on Topshelf Records in June, is one of the year’s most woefully under-celebrated standouts, all tenderness and twang. Italian trio DAGS!, which showcases its uniquely jagged, post-rock approach to rhythm and melody on last year’s Snowed In/Stormed Out, shares Tuesday’s loaded Caledonia bill, as does local group Scooterbabe, the always-compelling outlet for singer-songwriter JJ Posway’s clever, confessional bedroom-pop.
