#Automatic25

To celebrate the 25th birthday of R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People, Craft Recordings is re-issuing the album in a deluxe format that includes a set of previously unheard demos, plus Live at the 40 Watt Club 11/19/92, a recording of the band’s record-release show. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first R.E.M. listening party at the 40 Watt—a tradition that would continue for the next decade-plus—athensmusic.net will host #Automatic25, where attendees can hear the remastered album and view a short documentary on the making of what would become R.E.M.’s most universally acclaimed LP. There will also be a raffle. All proceeds benefit Family Connection-Communities in Schools in Athens and AthFest Educates.
