T.V. Mike and the Scarecrowes, Chris Padgett

After making a name for himself in the mid-aughts as a solo artist in the close-knit Bloomington, IN music scene, singer-songwriter “T.V.” Mike Klinge and fellow singer Andrea de la Rosa recruited a handful of other local players, formed the “cosmic twang stomp” band T.V. Mike and the Scarecrowes and headed westward to the Bay Area. The group swings through Athens on a national tour previewing tunes from Manzanita, the Scarecrowes’ upcoming third full-length, tracked at Berkeley’s Wildwood Studios. The wide-ranging record draws on folk, country and vintage soul, with a healthy dose of West Coast psychedelia to keep things grooving.
