Doug Stanhope and Friends

In an era where stand-up has thankfully evolved far beyond grizzled white guys telling dick jokes, Doug Stanhope represents the old guard—but that doesn’t mean he’s not funny. A comic’s comic who’s open about his love of substances and disdain for nearly everything else, Stanhope is no stranger to controversy, catching heat last November for making a string of Twitter jokes about his longtime girlfriend’s drug-related coma. Aside from maintaining a busy tour schedule, Stanhope hosts a podcast from the road and his home in Bisbee, AZ, interviewing friends he meets during his travels. Last fall, he released a new special, No Place Like Home, via comedy startup Seeso.
