WUGA’s final Artists in Residence event of the season visits the home of popular potter Maria Dondero. Soon after receiving her MFA from the Lamar Dodd School of Art in 2008, she began operating a home studio called Marmalade Pottery. This January, she renovated an old heating and air manufacturer building into a gallery and work space she shares with several other ceramicists. Located nearby at 180 Cleveland Ave., Southern Star Studio will be open to tour in addition to her home. Potter Ron Meyers will speak about Dondero’s work at 3:30 p.m., and an in-studio interview with her will be broadcast prior to the event. RSVP by calling 706-542-9842 or emailing thaxtona@uga.edu.
