Patterson Hood

A few weeks after he appeared with his Drive-By Truckers bandmate Mike Cooley at the Democratic National Convention, former Athenian and current Portlandian Patterson Hood returns to play a one-man show at his old stomping grounds. The last time we heard new solo material from Hood was on his 2012 album, Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance; expect him to run through some of those songs, as well as earlier solo work and various DBT classics. Hopefully, he’ll also preview a few of his contributions to the Truckers’ anticipated upcoming album, the politically charged American Band, recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium with the band’s longtime engineer, Athens’ David Barbe, at the helm.
