The Lyndon House’s annual Holiday Open House is an ideal time to view the works of contemporary artists and crafters while imagining a Victorian Christmas. While the Visual Arts Guild, which curates the center’s gift shop year-round, presents a huge selection of handmade gifts in every media through its market “Deck the Walls,” the Ladies Garden Club has adorned the Ware-Lyndon Historic House in traditional live decor. Activities include ornament making and gingerbread house building (10 a.m.–1 p.m.), portraits with Santa (12–2 p.m.) and an exhibit reception (2–4 p.m.). The Purple House Ramblers will perform Irish folk songs at 12:30 p.m., and the Athens Flute Choir will follow at 2 p.m. The afternoon comes to a close with holiday-themed storytelling and singing.
