Drawing parallels between the endurance of classical music and the time-tested recipes of brewers, cellist Steuart Pincombe combines three of Bach’s suites with three different beers in a program exploring the history of both art forms. Bach & Beer is part of a larger project called Music in Familiar Spaces, a year-long tour launched last month by Steuart and his wife Michelle. Living out of their 1959 travel trailer, the couple is traveling across the country, making classical music performances more accessible and less formal by utilizing nontraditional venues like cafés, bars and homes. Admission to Bach & Beer includes a souvenir glass and a half-dozen six-ounce brew samples.
