The Athens Nurses Clinic’s sixth annual fundraiser combines two distinct flavors of the Classic City by pairing cold glasses of the brewery’s craft beers alongside sandwiches prepared with thick slices of locally grown tomatoes—a staple of any Southern garden. In previous years, the event has provided a major source of funding for the nonprofit clinic, which provides health services to uninsured, low- and no-income residents of Athens and surrounding counties. The clinic’s services include acute care, chronic disease management, laboratory services, dentistry, women’s health and prescription assistance. String Theory performs live bluegrass music; chairs, blankets and kids are welcome.
