On the heels of the “Manchester to Athens” event, which brought New York’s Cinema Under the Influence to Athens last week to screen the Ian Curtis biopic Control, Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook swings through town for a show. Continuing a tribute tradition that began in his native England in 2010, Hook and his band of ringers, dubbed The Light, will play Joy Division’s iconic records Closer and Unknown Pleasures in their stark, searing entirety. Expect to hear New Order favorites, as well, and various other surprises.
