Over 60 local businesses and community groups will march in the annual Parade of Lights, bringing in the holiday season through the theme “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” The parade will kick off from the corner of Dougherty and Pulaski Streets, then march its way down Clayton St., loop around on Thomas St. and continue down Washington Street. Each float and performance group will be reviewed by judges near City Hall, where Santa Claus will host the traditional tree-lighting ceremony during the parade’s culmination. Make sure to keep an eye out for the Athens music (including Flagpole) float featuring local post-punk group Monsoon.
