Eden’s Cafe

Wondering what’s up with Eden’s Cafe, the vegan eatery set to move into what was most recently The Fish Shack, at Broad and Hancock? Co-owner Nick Bradfield says they’ll be opening up Saturday, Aug. 3, with “plant-based grab-and-go convenience items sourced from mostly local and organic sources, as well as coffee and tea, pastries and deserts. Also of interest is the fact that we will have a 24/7 vegan vending machine outside for healthy late-night pick-me-ups!”

The Eastside Your Pie has also closed.

The annual Athens Chefs Collaboration that benefits food-worker-assistance nonprofit The Giving Kitchen is set for Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. at Creature Comforts, with chefs from Condor Chocolates, Deer and the Dove, Donna Chang’s, The Expat, Five and Ten, Heirloom Café, home.made, Husk Savannah, Local Three, Muss and Turner’s, The Plate Sale, Rozina Bakehouse, Seabear, Staplehouse, The National and Vinetta. Tickets are $100 before Aug. 1 and $125 after, and get you five courses plus beers.

The J&J Flea Market is adding a new food option, called Stuffed, serving pizza, chicken nuggets and salad. It opens Aug. 10.

Simply B’LiciouS Cakes, Cupcakes, and More is open in Winterville, next to Wok Star on Cherokee Road, with custom cakes and some stuff to-go, operating mostly 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday.
