Peter Dale’s Maepole, a veggie-focused fast-casual place on Chase Street, between Boulevard and the Loop, is softly open, from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday). You can see the menu here.

Essentially, you pick a base (brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, salad greens), then add veggies, protein and a sauce. If you’re indecisive, there are pre-set combos. Also: beer, wine, aperol spritzes, kombucha and La Michoacana paletas for dessert.

Koa Bowls, with poke bowls, sashimi tacos, açai bowls and margaritas, is open on College Avenue downtown.

Nothing Bundt Cakes, a franchise bakery, is open Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday) at 1021 Dowdy Road, off Epps Bridge Parkway, across from Wendy’s.

And La Michoacana Antojitos Mexicanos, which is the same sort of thing as La Michoacana… es Natural (in Hull and inside the Eastside Cali N Tito’s) and La Michoacana del Tio Tino (inside the mall) but with different ownership, will finally open this weekend at 3750 Old Jefferson Road, with a party on Saturday, July 21, from noon–10 p.m. that will feature a DJ and a mechanical bull as well as tons of paleta flavors and other ice cream treats.
