Creature Comforts Releases ‘Southern Lager’ Mutualism

Creature Comforts is releasing a “Southern-style farmhouse lager” called Mutalism, a collaboration with Austin, TX-based Jester King Brewery.

The limited-edition beer is available in 750-milliliter bombers at the brewery only starting today.

Mutualism (5.5% ABV) is a pilsner brewed with local wheat and grits from Georgia-based DaySpring Farms. It then underwent secondary fermentation with a blend of both Creature Comforts’ and Jester King’s house cultures of yeast and bacteria.

The beer is described as having “an aroma of minerality, citrus zest, pear skin, floral hops and rustic grains. The flavor of Mutualism follows the aroma with a light, bright acidity and finishes with minerality and continental hop bitterness.”

The label was designed by Melissa Merrill, a local illustrator and Creature Comforts tour guide.
