Fatburger Is Open, Barberitos Delivers and More Food News

After a bit of a delay (the original date was August), the Athens location of Fatburger, the national chain based in California, is open in the Beechwood shopping center, inside Buffalo’s, its sister operation. It’s the only Fatburger currently open in the state of Georgia; locations in Atlanta and Marietta did exist but closed.

If you’ve been watching the storefront of the former Desi Bazaar, on South Milledge, just before the shopping center that houses Trump’s catering, Fook’s Foods and China 1, you may have noticed a new sign that promises Koyla Sizzling Grill and Hookah Lounge coming soon. The Desi sign is leaning against a house on 441, on the way to Madison.

The downtown Barberitos is responding to the needs of lazy late-night folks with the munchies by offering delivery on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m.–3 a.m. The restaurant itself will also be open that late. Delivery costs $2 extra, is limited to areas no farther west than Alps and Hawthorne and is available from barberitosdelivers.com.

Opa Robby’s Market has started offering produce baskets, either conventional or organic, for $25–$35, plus some specialty baskets (fruit only for $25, brunch for $35, St. Patrick’s Day complete meal ingredients for $75). Order by texting your name and the basket you want to 770-633-7406 by Wednesday at 9 p.m., then pick up Friday after 3 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m. For more details, check Facebook.
