Creature Comforts Re-Releases Automatic Pale Ale Today

It wasn’t automatic that Creature Comforts would bring back its Automatic pale ale, but they’re doing it, and the first kegs will get tapped today.

The release party kicks off at the Hancock Avenue brewery from 5–8 p.m. with food from White Tiger and music by New Orleans jazz band Roamin’ Jasmine. It then moves to Normaltown for live music, beer and beer cocktails at Normal Bar, Hi-Lo and Old Pal. Prints and T-shirts by Double Dutch Press will be for sale, too.

Automatic is draft-only, no cans, so this is your best shot to try it. But Koko Buni, Creature Comfort’s seasonal porter brewed with chocolate, coffee and coconut, will be available in cans starting in November through January.

Next Saturday, Oct. 24, Creature Comforts will host “Breasta Fiesta,” a special tour from 1–4 p.m. to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It’ll feature Athena berliner weisse with pink syrup, live music and artwork by Sara Papp, a Marietta resident, UGA graduate and breast cancer survivor.

On the same day, Terrapin hosts its annual Hop Harvest out on Newton Bridge Road, featuring the release of wet-hopped IPA So Fresh & So Green, Green (with fresh Equinox hops this year), 12 special casks and more Double Dutch prints. Tickets are $30, which includes a commemorative glass, 36 ounces of beer samples, a can of So Fresh & So Green, Green and a donation to the Dogwood Alliance.

In other news, Moo-Hoo, Terrapin’s tasty chocolate milk stout, is out, and it’s in cans this year as well as bottles.
