Sometimes it seems like Flagpole is The Bottleworks Times, but it ain’t our fault—or even due to our location—that we cover the mixed-use development frequently. The new owners have done a fine job attracting businesses, and the newest is set to open Saturday, Nov. 1 (grand opening Nov. 8) next to Seabear Oyster Bar.
That business, Olive Basket, is a shmancy olive oil and vinegar store that will let you taste its more than 60 options before it bottles them for you. For now, its website is a placeholder only, but its hours are set (Mon–Sat., 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sun. noon–8 p.m.), and it has a phone number (706-521-5060) and a Facebook page.
Over on West Broad Street, in the old Mexicali Grille that very briefly housed Botanas, we’re getting a location of American Deli, the franchise that also has an outpost in the Georgia Square Mall. The menu consists of subs, burgers, fried fish, chicken fingers and suchlike.
