Georgia Square Value Cinemas 5 at Georgia Square Mall abruptly closed earlier this week, according to multiple sources on the Internet and elsewhere.
An employee told Flagpole office manager and noted film buff Stephanie Rivers that the theater’s lease expired, and the Georgia Theatre Company did not want to pay to convert from film to digital in order to keep it open.
This means you’ll no longer have the option of trying to avoid Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers for four months so you can go see it for $2 while sitting in a broken seat. Instead, you’ll be forced to pay full price.
At least all of our remaining theaters serve beer now.
