Five Points Dance Studio Moving Downtown

Dancefx, a nonprofit dance studio, is moving from Five Points to the Foundry Street warehouses behind the Classic Center.

Dancefx Athens announced today that it will be moving to a new downtown location at the end of July.

The local dance studio, founded in 2000 by Danielle Mason Hosker, is quickly outgrowing its current facility and is reluctant to leave its Five Points community. The new space is located behind the Classic Center and will have four larger studios, more available parking, additional space for its Dancestyle Dancewear store as well as increased office space.

“We’re excited to move into a space that will match our cutting edge spirit and a downtown community that exudes love for the arts,” said Allison Hayn, Dancefx Athens Executive Director. “We are also really looking forward to using this facility as a way to invest in our Athens community.”

The move will begin in July but the studio has already begun preparations. The reveal of the move brings an announcement of a Building Campaign. Dancefx Athens is hoping raise additional funding to outfit its new facility with new barres, sprung floors, sound equipment and lobby furniture.
