It looked a little different this year, but the pandemic didn’t stop the 5th Annual Athens MLK Day Parade and Festival.
Socially distanced attendees enjoyed music and speeches on Monday before a car caravan parade through downtown starting at Hot Corner, the historic center of Athens’ Black community. Flagpole photographer Whitley Carpenter documented the scene.
