New COVID Cases in Northeast Georgia Start to Fall

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that the Northeast Health District added 406 new cases of COVID-19 in the week ending on Jan. 24.

DPH reported that the 17-county Northeast Health District had added 481 cases in the week ending on Jan. 17, 403 new cases of COVID-19 in the week ending on Jan. 10 and 278 cases in the week ending on Jan. 3.

DPH reported one new confirmed death from COVID-19 in the Northeast Health District in its report on Wednesday. The Department of Public Health had reported two new confirmed deaths from the disease in its report on Jan. 17.

At-home test results are not included in the electronic reporting system.

The average number of added cases per day in the last seven days ending on Jan. 24 was 58, down from 68.7 on Jan. 17.

Clarke County added 92 new cases in the seven days ending on Jan. 24. It had added 116 new cases in the seven days ending on Jan. 17. The unstandardized seven-day rolling average of added cases in Clarke County on Jan. 24 was 14, down from 16.9 on Jan. 17.
