I read with interest the City Dope column in the Feb. 23 issue of Flagpole and was struck by a comment made by Commissioner Tim Denson in regards to a pay raise for commissioners: “There is a definite possibility that I will not be able to run for re-election and will get zero benefit from this.” Perhaps it is a good thing that Denson will now have to join the rest of us in full-time work, because he seems to have forgotten that serving as an elected official should not benefit him, but rather his constituents if possible.
