Pete McCommons’ article on newspapering, public education, politics and leadership in general [Pub Notes, May 2] was very well done indeed. Unfortunately, it might well reflect conditions in many communities throughout America these days. Mr. McCommons demonstrates a fearless brand of journalism that is all too rare in our time.
