Openings at the University of Georgia and Oconee County schools will be delayed on Tuesday morning due to inclement weather. Forecasts call for possible black ice if the temperature dips below freezing overnight.

UGA will delay opening until 10 a.m. First- and second-period classes are canceled, and classes will resume with third period at 11:10 a.m.

Classes at Oconee County public schools, which are open despite the pandemic, will be delayed two hours. Elementary schools will start at 9:45 a.m., and middle and high schools at 10:15 a.m.

Most Clarke County students are still learning remotely until at least Mar. 1, but some special needs students did return to school Monday. All CCSD school buildings will be closed Tuesday, the district announced.

In addition, Algebra I and U.S. History End of Course tests scheduled for Tuesday have been pushed back to Wednesday, and American Literature and Makeup testing will take place Thursday.

Otherwise, virtual instruction will remain unchanged.
