Scenes from a Demonstration (Pt. 1)

Here are some scenes from the Sunday evening protest organized by members of the ACC community in response to the killing of George Floyd of Minnesota.

Marci Mendel White ACC Commissioner Mariah Parker led a rally at the courthouse and then joined forces with the protesters at the Arch. Here, she addresses the crowd from the monument about the Athens men killed in the Civil War.
Robert Klein The Boogaloo Boys showed up at the Sunday evening rally downtown with their assault rifles and temporarily spooked the crowd.
Whitley Carpenter By 10:45 p.m. the downtown action was still peaceful, in spite of the earlier appearance of the right-wing Boogaloo Boiz, hoping to spook the crowd with their assault rifles, which they did, momentarily.
Whitley Carpenter Police use tear gas at midnight to disperse protesters at the Arch.
