Downtown Arcade Flashback Games Closing; Downtown Arcade Wonder Bar Opening

Flashback Games, the retro arcade at 162 W. Clayton St., is moving to Loganville later this month, according to its Facebook page:

Hello friends, we at Flashback Games have a very important announcement to make. As some of you have suspected something has been going on at our beloved arcade here in Athens and now we are proud to let the news out. We will closing our location in Athens Ga. December 29th in preparation of moving to our new location in Loganville Ga. We have been working hard on this for several months now to find a location that meets the criteria we have set to make Flashback Games the best retro arcade around. The new location is now within a easy drive from Athens but also Atlanta, Covington, Conyers and all of Gwinnett County. Most everyone will be able to get to us in 30 min. or less and parking is free. Also to better serve our customers we want to have the things so many of you have asked for like delicious food, beer and more games too! Our new location will be just as family friendly as it’s always been but with more choice and a better arcade experience. We hope everyone shares our excitement about our “reboot” and more news will be announced soon including a reopen date. In the meantime come and play some games with us and have fun because that’s what it’s all about.

But don’t despair, gamers. Another arcade, Wonder Bar at 240 E. Washington St., is having a soft opening this month.
