A prisoner walked off a work detail this morning in the vicinity of Newton Bridge Road and Paradise Boulevard, according to Athens-Clarke County officials.
He’s a 6-foot-tall black man with a thin build, wearing a gray jacket and white pants with a blue stripe. In other words, he looks nothing like these guys:
The prisoner stole a United Taxi van and was last seen headed north on Commerce Road. Be on the lookout.
UPDATE: Well, that was fast. As of 11:01 a.m., authorities said they had the prisoner in custody.
