Fourth of July, I Mean Star-Spangled Classic, Canceled

Nope.

First my barbecue, and now this? Another day of bummer summer weather, another holiday casualty. This just in from ACC:

Due to expected inclement weather, the Star Spangled Classic at Bishop Park, Athens’ annual Independence Day celebration, has been cancelled.

The extended weather forecast prevents the opportunity to re-schedule the event for the contracted rain date of July 5

“We are disappointed that we won’t be holding the event this year, but we look forward to celebrating next year,” stated Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department Director Pam Reidy.

And America wept.
