Game On!

If, like me, you’re a child of the late ’80s/early ’90s, this news will get you pumped. Flashback Games, an old-school arcade, is opening at 162 W. Clayton Street tomorrow. They have all my old faves, like Galaga and Street Fighter 2, and it’s $8 to play as much as you want. It’ll be like sixth grade all over again, except now we can drink beer.

Also Saturday, Occupy Athens is holding an activist fair at Athens Unitarian Universalist Fellowship on Timothy Road from 3-6 p.m. It’s like a job fair, but instead, it’s for people looking for an organization to volunteer for.

Wondering what’s to become of the Potter’s House Thrift Store once Emmanuel Episcopal Church finishes its expansion at the corner of Prince Avenue and Barber Street? It’s moving to Homewood Hills, according to Athens Patch.

In politics, U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta), an OBGYN, said former Rep. Todd “Legitimate Rape” Akin (R-MO) was “partly right” and advised women who are trying to get pregnant to drink a glass of wine and relax, the AJC reports.
