On Friday, Nov. 3, Monkees member Micky Dolenz visited Wuxtry Athens to celebrate the release of his new album, Dolenz Sings R.E.M. Mayor Kelly Girtz presented Dolenz with a key to the city, and R.E.M. members Peter Buck, Michael Stipe and Bill Berry were in attendance. The Funkees, a super group of local musicians led by Michael Guthrie, played a tribute set to The Monkees.
Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons played two nights at the 40 Watt Club on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
