Revisiting last week’s recap, we caught The Welfare Liners, Peach Ice Cream Bluegrass Band and The Wild Jordan Tonk-Cats at the Classic City American Music Festival at Southern Brewing Co. on Saturday, July 1.
The Red Line hosted Bored in the USA on Tuesday, July 4 with Small Beige Girl, Beat Up and Moon Mane (AR).
Evelia, Annie Leeth and Sophia Corinne performed at Bolo Bolo on Wednesday, July 5.
Rubber Udder, Superbitch (Tampa) and Dark Wale performed at Flicker Theatre & Bar on Friday, July 7.
On Saturday, July 8, Klezmer Local 42 provided a live score to a screening of the silent film Sherlock Jr. at the Marigold Auditorium.
Over at Terrapin, Classic City Jukebox performed a fundraising event for the Athens Humane Society.
That night, the 40 Watt Club hosted Rad Hot Athenian Summer with pop-punk cover band That’s Rad!, Murder the Mood covering My Chemical Romance and The Dookie Bros. covering Green Day.
Meghan Dowlen celebrated the release of her new album Wild Abandon at Flicker, where Sex Cells and Patrick Barry also performed.
ConSec celebrated the release of its album Wheel of Pain at Buvez on Monday, July 10 with Circuit and Dark Vaughn.
