On Saturday, Apr. 29, Shadebeast hosted Empty Black (Atlanta), Dead Vibes Ensemble and Aunt Moth at Flicker Theatre & Bar.

At Ciné that night, The Rishis and Scott Spillane performed in the Lab.

Picking up where we left off in last week’s recap of the UGA Music Business Program’s Beats ‘N Brews festival, we also caught Shine, Angelics, Five Gallon Flow, Recess Party, Marie Daly and Sophia Barkhouse on Sunday, Apr. 30.

On Thursday, May 4, Classic City Rotary presented the annual Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award at the 40 Watt Club. Caroline Herring played a full set, followed by last year’s winner Elijah Johnston. This year’s finalists were Dylan Loftin (Eagle Scout), Avery Draut (Night Palace), TRVY, Erin Lovett (Four Eyes) and Cardynal. Congrats to this year’s winner…drumroll…TRVY!

That night at Ciné, T. Hardy Morris performed at a fundraiser for Love.Craft Athens.

Over at Flicker, Fermented Angels performed.

On Friday, May 5, Classic City Jukebox performed at El Barrio.

MaiKai Kava Lounge hosted RBXXX.

FRUTE (Atlanta) performed at Flicker.

Ciné hosted Murder the Mood, Nix the Scientist and Gourdhead.

On Saturday, May 6, VG Minus and The Lanes played at Flicker.

Next door at the 40 Watt, the Athens Business Rocks competition raised over $17,000 for Nuçi’s Space. The lineup of participating businesses included 40 Watt Club at Tom Watts, Careaway Cakes as Cakes N’ Roses, Adam Hebbard & Friends as The Young Frankensteins, Starlite Showroom as The Solitary Man, Wuxtry Records as The Wux-o-matics, TSAV as Punchlist, JOMA Construction as The Jomamas & The Papas, and Nuçi’s Space as Sgt. Sleppy’s Hopeful Hearts Çlub. Nuçi’s Space’s Camp Amped Band kicked off the night.

On Sunday, May 7, the Red Line hosted Noise Mountain, The Grawks and SLINK.
