AthFest Educates Announces Full Lineup for AthFest Music & Arts Festival

AthFest Educates has officially announced the full lineup for this summer’s 25th annual AthFest Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for June 23–25 across three outdoor stages and 10 different music venues. See the press release below.

AthFest Educates Announces Full AthFest Music & Arts Festival Lineup 

(Athens, GA)— AthFest Educates has announced its full lineup for the 25th AthFest Music & Arts Festival. The annual fundraising festival in downtown Athens takes place June 23rd-25th and includes performances on three outdoor stages, plus AthFest Club Crawl Shows at 10 local music venues. All proceeds from the festival benefit AthFest Educates, a local nonprofit that supports high-quality music and arts education for K-12 youth in Athens.   

The free outdoor stages will have performances from 5pm Friday until 11pm, from noon Saturday until 11pm, and noon Sunday until 9pm.  Club Crawl shows take place Friday and Saturday nights. Club Crawl Wristbands get attendees into all Club Crawl shows both nights (capacity and age restrictions apply) and are for sale on AthFest.com. A limited number of VIP Weekend Passes are also available. VIP passes include access to all Club Crawl Shows, and access to the VIP-only Mainstage viewing area, with its shaded seating and VIP-only beverage service area (and three included beverages a day!).  

In addition to live music all weekend long, the festival area includes beer gardens, vendors, food trucks, and a juried Artist Market. AthFest’s KidsFest is a mini-festival within a festival with its own KidsFest stage, sponsored this year by Clarke County School District, with performances by and for young people. The popular KidsFest also includes free activities for young people as well as ticketed rides and inflatables.   

The festival kicks off on the Wicked Weed Mainstage and features performances by: Spencer Thomas; Wim Tapley and the Cannons; Pip The Pansy; Linqua Franqa; and Family & Friends. The Paloma Park Hull Street Stage will host a brief welcome by AthFest Educates Executive Director, Mary Joyce, and her band Ghost & Goat, followed by Bea Porges, Hunger Anthem, Nuclear Tourism, and Monsoon, all topped off with a Silent Hip Hop Dance Party with DJ ChiefRocka. 

On Saturday June 24th the Wicked Weed Mainstage kicks off at noon with Anna Kellam, then Parker Wierling, Clover County, Grassland, Squallé & L.G. The Heart of the City, Tedo Stone, Mckendrick Bearden, Five Eight, T. Hardy Morris, and The Pink Stones. Over on the Paloma Park Hull Street Stage you’ll find Dooley and Baldwin, followed by Father Werewolf, After Hourz Band, Hunlo, The Echolocations, TYL3R DAVIS, Hollowbody, Lona, Sex Cells, and Jameson Tank, followed by a Silent Disco w DJ Sublime & DJ $ymphony.   

Sunday June 25th the Wicked Weed Mainstage will host The Welfare Liners, Supernova Rainbow Band, BlackNerdNinja, Honey Puppy, Curbside Pickups, Dayroom, Elf Power and The Bad Ends. The Paloma Park Hull Street Stage will have IAMTIKICA, Jacob Mallow, Mack2Tone , Motorhead 2x, John Swilley & The Soul Goats, Wyld Staleyz, Klezmer Local 42 and Chickasaw Mudd Puppies 

The lineup for the Georgia Theatre Friday night Mainstage is Cassie Chantel, Lera Lynn, and lo talker. The Rooftop Stage will feature Annie Leeth, Cannonandtheboxes, Zac Crook, and Recess Party. Saturday night on the Georgia Theatre Mainstage is Elijah Johnston, Well Kept and Heffner. The Rooftop Stage will host Jacob Morris, Canary Affair, Sarah Mootz and Dog Person.  

The iconic 40 Watt Club will host sets by Parker Gispert, Cicada Rhythm, and The Deslondes on Friday night, and Tears for the Dying, Pylon Reenactment Society, and Vision Video followed by a PostPunk/Goth DJ Dance Party featuring DJ sets by Gregory & Adria, and Goth Dad & Twin Powers on Saturday night. 

At Live Wire Athens on Friday night the lineup includes: Cam & His Dam Jam Band; Alien Funk Academy; The Regulars; and The Orange Constant. And Saturday night: AthFactor, Volumes Hip Hop & On The Planet Productions Present: DJ ChiefRocka; Molly Tu Hott; ¢lark ¢ounty; Sajaad; Kxng Blanco; Trvy & The Enemy; Caulfield, and Indigo Sound (Bobfish, jiG and Shakti). 

Hendershot’s hosts Misnomer and Kenosha Kid Friday night and sets by Dodd Ferrelle, Jim White, and Chris Stamey with Eunice Kang on cello, Saturday night.   

Friday night at Flicker Theatre will feature Commune, Telemarket, and Blunt Bangs and, Saturday night, Nu11, CDSM, and Coma Therapy. 

The lineup at Ciné on Friday night kicks off with Rosie & The Ratdogs, followed by Guillotine A.D., Beast Mode, and Noise Mountain. Saturday night it’s Deaf Condors, Beat Up, Weaponized Flesh, El ChupaSKAbra, and Way Past Cool. 

At The Foundry Friday night there is a Songwriters in the Round, featuring: Adam Payne, Bo Hembree, Curt Spell, Todd Cowart, Joshua Walker, Brodye Brooks & Casey King (of Holman Autry Band), William Tonks, Ben Reynolds. Saturday it’s Betsy Franck & Friends, and then Randall Bramblett Band. 

At The Globe Friday night Classic City Rotary + Vic Chesnutt Awards Present: 
Jeffery Vernon; 2023 Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award Winner; Hunter Morris & Blue Blood; and Terminally Phil. On Saturday night it is Mary & The Hot Hotty Hots, and Swing Theory. 

New to the Club Crawl, Paloma Park Bar will host Lighthearted, A.D. Blanco, and Grandville Friday night and The OCHO, Everyday Dogs, and The Asymptomatics Saturday night.  

Also new to the official AthFest Club Crawl, Nowhere Bar hosts Propeller Sound Recordings Presents: Shehehe; Mercyland; and Current Rage on Friday night, and Esther Rose, followed by Bloodkin on Saturday night.
