Flagpole Premieres: Tunabunny, ‘Magic January’

Over the course of four albums, Tunabunny has put forth some of the most thrilling sounds to come out of Athens in recent memory, blending pop and rock sensibilities with avant-garde exploration, as heard on 2014’s totally compelling Kingdom Technology.

Now, the band’s set to release a fifth LP, PCP Presents Alice In Wonderland Jr., which it has already teased with a first single, “Incinerate.” Today, we’re excited to premiere another track from the upcoming album, “Magic January.”

As the band describes it, it’s the sound of “crippling depression… the first part’s told from the perspective of the afflicted, the second from a journalist trying to piece together what became of the afflicted.”

Check out the tune, which starts as a sauntering come-on and ends as a five-alarm fire, below:

PCP Presents Alice In Wonderland Jr. is out June 23 via HHBTM.
