New Georgia head football coach Kirby Smart wanted to bring 90,000 fans to Athens for the Bulldogs’ annual spring practice game, and what better way to do it than to hire gazillion-selling rapper Ludacris to perform on G-Day?
It was a success, but fans started to “Act a Fool” when reporters got their hands on a copy of Luda’s rider. He was paid $65,000 for the 15-minute concert, and the UGA Athletic Association provided him with free food, T-shirts, batteries, vodka, wine, cognac and Trojan Magnum condoms in the dressing room. A little too much “Southern Hospitality,” maybe?
Athletic Director Greg McGarity later apologized.
