A beguiling mix of hip-hop beats, well-placed samples and jazz instrumentals, The New Breed was, for me, the standout in a year of stellar releases from Tortoise guitarist Jeff Parker. I can’t get enough of this radiant album, and suspect I’ll be spinning it for a long time.
