Flagpole Premieres: Powerkompany, ‘Like’ Video

In February, Athens electropop duo Powerkompany released Fever and Chills, a lush, propulsive follow-up to 2013’s I Am More Than This. Today, we’re happy to premiere the video for “Like,” the album’s delicate yet daring seventh track.

Check out the clip, which was shot and edited by the band’s Marie Davon, below:

Says Davon:

“Like” was written as a poem originally to express how much around us we overlook each day. The video for “Like” is a joining of the past and present. The parades and waterskiing were shot by my grandfather on 8mm film and the woman seen occasionally with the flowers was my grandmother. The other footage was shot in my friends’ basement and Pascaldmx did all the lighting. The muse (Birdie Jackson) seen at the beginning and throughout takes the viewer through forgotten memories that play and re-play backwards and forwards—I wanted the viewer to feel like they were watching a dream.
