Unknown Mortal Orchestra to Play Urban Outfitters Grand Opening Party

UPDATE: Due to problems with the “check-in” function on the app, the ticket-claiming process for this concert has changed. Details are below.

To commemorate the opening of the downtown location of international youth culture and ill-advised design emporium Urban Outfitters, which finally opens its doors this week, buzzy Portland, OR psychmongers Unknown Mortal Orchestra will play an outdoor show in the Creature Comforts parking lot on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 8:30 p.m.

The concert, which is being co-presented by the Slingshot Festival, is free, with one catch: To claim a ticket, you must download the Urban Outfitters smartphone app and show it to an employee at the new Athens location.

According to organizers, there will also be “complimentary drinks, and a signature glass for sale of which all proceeds will go to local nonprofit Nuci’s Space.” Athens band Mothers will also perform.

More details are available on the Facebook event page.
