Cibo Matto to Headline Athens Intensified 2014

News came in this morning that Cibo Matto, the often inscrutable New York-based indie-pop group that came to prominence in the mid-’90s before staying quiet through much of the early part of this century, re-forming in 2011 and finally releasing a new studio LP earlier this year, will headline this year’s Athens Intensified festival.

Intensified, the brainchild of longtime Flagpole columnist Gordon Lamb, will celebrate its third annual incarnation this year Sept. 11–13. It will also be the first time the event will spread beyond the Caledonia Lounge (the Cibo Matto show will take place at the 40 Watt Club).

Festival passes will be available starting next week, according to Lamb, who adds that more performers will also be announced then—so stay tuned to Homedrone.
