Dream Boat, Outer Spaces to Play Flagpole’s My_Athens Event

In last week’s Art Notes, we told you about My_Athens, the Instagram-based art show that’s taking over the Bottleworks gallery all April long. This Friday, Apr. 12, Paste Magazine will present a musical showcase featuring locals Easter Island and T. Hardy Morris. Pretty cool, I guess. (J/K, it’s very cool.) But the real throwdown will happen the next Friday, Apr. 19, when Flagpole presents performances by Dream Boat and Outer Spaces.

Dream Boat, of course, is the newish vehicle for the airy, evocative folk tunes of Page Campbell (Hope For Agoldensummer) wherein she collaborates with artist and musician Dan Donahue to create a warm, psychedelic vibe; and Outer Spaces is local songwriter Cara Beth Satalino’s terrific folk-pop project. Tickets for the event, which starts at 7 p.m., are $10 and on sale now. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Athens Area Habitat for Humanity, so you’ll be doing your good deed for the week and seeing some killer tunes in the process.

RSVP to the Facebook event page if you please.

(P.S.: The space is tiny, so act now.)
