Watch a New Future Ape Tapes Video: ‘Mandala’


Long-running local avant-pop group Future Ape Tapes will release a new album, Somnambuland, in March, but you can get a sneak peek by checking out the video for “Mandala,” a swirling, spaced-out track from the record. The video, which was put together by Future Ape’s Donald Whitehead, does a fine job of mirroring the band’s chameleonic sound.

In related news, the other half of Future Ape Tapes, Tom Television, will perform tonight at Flicker Theatre & Bar as part of Hand Sand Hands’ January “Weird Fest” residency. The flyer for tonight’s show, which also features Motion Sickness of Time Travel, Grant Evans and Cult of Riggonia, is below:
