UGA’s Public Affairs department has announced that on Tuesday, Nov. 27, Public Enemy frontman Carlton Douglas Ridenhour—aka Chuck D—will deliver a lecture entitled “Rap, Race and Reality” in the Tate Student Center Grand Hall. Chuck D has held strong to his political and personal beliefs in the ensuing years since his group’s early-’90s heyday, openly criticizing the rap establishment for its increased commercialism and speaking out against Arizona’s immigration policy. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. event, which will doubtless be in high demand, are FREE for students and $5 for nonstudents. They’re available at the Tate Student Center Cashier Window, open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
