There’s a whole lot of music going on this weekend in Asheville, NC as part of Moogfest. And here at Flagpole, we’re all about helping you out. For instance, did you know that “Moog” rhymes with “vogue?” (Yeah. You’ve been saying it wrong all these years.)

FRIDAY, OCT. 26

Because it’s Nas, and he’s the king.
10 p.m.: Exitmusic @ Diana Wortham Theatre
Lush and powerful but also delicate, the name of this NYC duo is hot on a lot of folks’ lips, and for good reason.
10:30 p.m.: Squarepusher @ Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
You’ve never seen electronic music performed like this.
11:30 p.m.: Ahleuchatistas @ Diana Wortham Theatre

SATURDAY, OCT. 27
7 p.m.: Julia Holter @ Diana Wortham Theatre
Ethereal and aching, Holter’s voice meshes perfectly with her airy compositions.
7:30 p.m.: The Magnetic Fields @ Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
Stephin Merritt and co. hit back with another magnificent set of songs with this year’s Love at the Bottom of the Sea.
8:30 p.m.: Cold Cave @ The Orange Peel
Thudding bass, piercing synths: your Saturday night has begun.
10:15 p.m.: Tim Hecker & Daniel Lopatin @ Diana Wortham Theatre
With a collaborative album out next month, these two ambient/improv hotshots should put on a ridiculously compelling performance.
10:30 p.m.: Orbital @ ExploreAsheville.com Arena
They’re legends. They’re masters of the form. They’re still going strong.
11:30 p.m.: Four Tet @ Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
Kieran Hebden is one of the best at what he does. Please, have a listen.
12 a.m.: Carl Craig @ The Orange Peel
You can’t go wrong by closing the weekend with a sure-to-be-fiery set from one of Detroit’s most revered producers. Dance, sweat, love. Do it all again.
