Watch a new Chris McKay video

Above, peep the video for “That Excites Me,” a new song from Athens rock and roller Chris McKay. It’s from McKay’s new solo full-length, which he plans to release next year. The tune marks the first-ever solo outing from the Critical Darlings frontman. From YouTube:

“‘That Excites Me’ is intended to be a ‘mission statement’ and mood setter for the latest project. It speaks to possible new directions, nervousness and anticipation. It also responds to people who have been wondering what’s taking so long for the new music to come out…

McKay says, ‘Many of my friends and I have reached a point in our lives where things are changing. This is for them and for me. We are looking forward with anticipation and we are trying to be confident, but there is insecurity and anxiety that comes with it. I wanted to write a song that captures that feeling. I hope ‘That Excites Me’ is that song and that it speaks to my friends and helps send positive energy their way. This is how I’m feeling at the moment and I know I’m not alone. This is now.”
