Here, for some reason, is video of Centro-Matic frontman Will Johnson (who will be playing a living room show in Athens on Sept. 17) performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before a recent Rice Owls NCAA regional game.
He does a pretty damn good job! At the very least, it’s way better than listening to little Harper Gruzins’ blood-curdling rendition. Then again, so is sticking your hand in a wood-chipper.
