Today, Athens hip-hop artist and Music Walk of Famer Ishues drops a new music video for “In A Time,” a song off of the recently released album Legacy.

“I chose to shoot a video for this track because I felt the contents of the song were very relevant to a lot of things that some people are going through these days, including some personal things in my life as well,” says Ishues.

The artist weaves articulate and expressive raps through a thoughtful beat selection on this massive 18-track album. “In A Time” adds its own flair with the rapper singing a melodically unsettling hook relating the passing of time to the passing of lives. He proceeds to work through a list of modern struggles largely around the topic of interpersonal relationships and quality of life. The video concept came from a brainstorming session between Ishues and Anthony Brasher of Brasher Media.

In the video, Ishues remains a glitch of reality in an otherwise green screen heavy visual menagerie. Going full green screen meant the possibilities were endless, and scenes from around (and out of) this world throughout thousands of years appear. Ishues says that the floating in space scenes were the most fun to shoot.

“It was very exciting. I had to do some creative acting and really use my imagination; it was a lot of fun to imagine the scenes I was in and then anticipate what it would look like when it was finished,” says Ishues. “This is my favorite video so far.”

The next opportunity to catch Ishues live is next Thursday, Apr. 27 at Terrapin Beer Co. for the Georgia Conflict Center Spring Community Concert starting at 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.gaconflict.org.
