Sunday, Apr. 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Athens Food Tours will be running its Spring 2012 Bicycle Farm Tour. It’s a 35-mile ride through the glorious countryside, which with luck will be less coated in pollen by then, with stops at seven farms and artist work spaces. Tickets are $45 per person and include samples at each stop, lunch at Anderson Farms, “the expertise of our bike mechanic” and souvenirs. You can buy them on the website. Participants must register at Tucker Plantation between 8 and 8:15 a.m. on the day of the event, and the ride starts at 8:30 a.m. Stops featured are: Tucker Plantation, Wee Woods Farm, Watson Mill Bridge Park, 3 Porch Farm, Anderson Farms, Fertile Crescent Farm and Blue Bell Gallery. If you don’t have a bike, you can rent one from Georgia Cycle Sport for $25 for the day. If you don’t have a bike and don’t want to ride one but want to participate anyway, email Mary Charles at DigIn@AthensFoodTours.com.
