After being open for 12 years, Pulaski Heights BBQ announced yesterday on Facebook and Instagram that it has closed. The post read:
“After a 12 year run, it’s time to put out the fire. We survived a smokehouse burning down, a global pandemic, and a few years of economic uncertainty. Now, multiple equipment failures have led us to the decision to close up shop for good. We’d like to thank our staff who made it all possible and our regulars who brightened our doorstep many days. Sincerely, Chuck and Danielle.”
As this beloved local restaurant closes its doors, several chains are preparing to open around Athens. Willie B’s Chicken Coupe, a fried chicken chain open for breakfast and lunch/dinner, is now open in the spot Guthrie’s was eyeing on 3465 Jefferson Rd., conjoined with the Marathon gas station.
The ACC Planning Department has confirmed that Buffalo Wild Wings will be taking over the recently closed Red Lobster on West Broad Street.
Panda Express has broken ground on building a location near the Space Kroger on U.S. 29 Highway North.
Downtown signage for Panera Bread has gone up on the former Suntrust Bank building at the corner of Lumpkin and Broad streets, which has sparked a lot of online dialogue about the changing landscape.
