If you have kids, you may already be aware that Treehouse Kid & Craft, Kristen Bach’s wonderland of a store next to Ideal Bagel on Broad Street, is moving to the Atlas complex on Barber Street (in the space between Buvez and the train tracks), effective sometime in July. But you probably didn’t know that, in the process, it’s adding Treathouse, which will retail “nostalgic and imported candies,” according to Bach, and sell soft-serve ice cream and King of Pops popsicles.
Are you vegan or dairy-free? So is the ice cream, which is made with oat milk or fruit. You can get it in a cup or a cone: regular, gluten-free or fancy vegan cones made in Brooklyn that come in flavors like dark chocolate, lavender, birthday cake, toasted coconut, matcha, salted blue corn and creamsicle. Also: sundaes, floats (with soda or Figment Kombucha) and lots and lots of toppings geared to kids (Pocky, marshmallows, frosted animal crackers, Oreos) and grown-ups (olive oil and sea salt, spicy salsa matcha, chili crisp, dried mango, black sesame seeds, edible flowers from Three Porch Farm).
You may remember that, back in 2018, Buvez planned to have its own vegan soft-serve, so maybe the space just attracts it.
